Autumn leaves, fresh fallen snow
feather beds and winterglow
a lonely cottage hidden in the woods
mountain sides, eternal pines
chestnut early morning rides
a meadowland with flowers everywhere

they remind me of you
it's the world made brand new
like a mystery for two

The photographs they made of you
did stop me in my gait
I saw compassion in your eyes
beyond the heaven's gate

Flocks of birds, all southern bound
golden harvest all around
corn and barley plentiful in store
flowing water, lovely sound
new born fawns are to be found
ice is melting, spring is here again

they remind me of you
it's the world made brand new
like a mystery for two

You look at me and seem to say
what good did you do today
you're able to impose a new
moral standard with your gaze
